New e-cars for bremenports

The port management company bremenports has taken further steps to change over its corporate fleet to alternative drive systems. In November, it purchased another seven electric and hybrid vehicles to add to the four electric cars already in the fleet. As well as four Renault ZOEs, three Toyota hybrid vehicles will now be in use at the ports of Bremen. This means that 11 of the total 46 bremenports cars now have alternative powertrains.

“We are making good progress in our endeavours to gradually change over our fleet,” commented Robert Howe, Managing Director of bremenports. He regretted that the range available on the automobile market to date was extremely small. “It is still true to say that the choice of models is limited and the prices are very high.” This makes it very difficult for the company to implement the ambitious plans to change over its fleet to alternative drive Systems.

As far as trucks and special-purpose vehicles are concerned, bremenports is still dependent on conventional engines as no alternatives are as yet available.
