Port Development and Innnovation

We shape the future of the ports of Bremen

Maritime logistics and cargo handling are changing: we are repeatedly confronted with new demands from our customers at the ports in Bremen and Bremerhaven. We want to remain competitive in the global market sustainably and over the long term. Accordingly, our experts are continuously developing and improving our ports: we analyse the existing structures; we observe the market and other port locations very closely. We are constantly investigating where we can adjust things and where there is hidden potential. Because we want to become even better. We discuss appropriate solutions and are passionate about drawing up carefully considered master plans. And we do all of this to ensure that the ports of Bremen are equipped today to face tomorrow.

Better ports. Stronger economy.

The aim of port development is to strengthen our port locations on a sustainable basis. Regionally and also internationally. We are continually improving our competitive position. We act as pioneers and perform important work for the regional economy and for Germany as an export nation. At the same time, however, we proactively address structural changes in the port and logistics business. The “Future Concept for the Port 2035” drawn up by the Ports Committee of Bremen’s parliament serves as our guideline for all these activities.

Marketing

Do outstanding work and talk about it.

The port is a place where people work with great enthusiasm. And we are the people who talk about it. Our marketing department wants to draw attention to the good work done here at the port and at the business enterprises and organisations at the port and logistics location of Bremen/Bremerhaven. And we are prepared to use any means to do so – whether online, social or print media.

Stand of the Breakbulk Europe

Only together we are strong

The Port Community as an important success factor: We give invisible heroes a face.

We aim to provide both large and small port companies with the perfect platform for exhibiting at trade fairs. bremenports organizes appearances at logistics and transport trade fairs around the world – featuring impressive joint stands – and offers companies an all-inclusive, worry-free package for organizing their exhibition presence. In doing so, we relieve the burden – particularly on small and medium-sized port and logistics companies – allowing them to focus on what matters most to us, too: the customers.

Digitisation, automation, artificial intelligence.

The technological revolution is also breaking new ground at the port. And this calls for the support of the entire port community, because the concept of a smart port can only succeed if everyone cooperates to enable network solutions for the whole port.

Real Estate

Management and use of port areas

The ports of Bremen have enormous potential. We manage numerous properties on land and water sites that cover more than 3,100 hectares and particularly appreciate the proximity to our customers. We not only market these properties, but help companies to set up new business locations here. We assist them with planning, manage sites and show them where there is space for exciting new building projects at the ports of Bremen, always within the context of a future-proof port economy.
